We are excited to confirm that the wonderful Nicky Lander will be returning from maternity leave to head up Bright's Commercial and Fiction division as Senior Agent on 1st October!
And as if that wasn't enough, we are also delighted to be welcoming new Agent, Amy Capelin, to the team.
Amy will be working alongside Nicky and Children's and Fiction Agent, Robyn Newton, focusing on sourcing and developing fantastic commercial illustration for the children's publishing market.

Before joining Bright’s children’s division Amy worked in foreign rights for several years, starting at Laurence King Publishing and followed by Penguin Random House Children’s and translation rights agency ILA.
This experience gave her a passion for illustrated children’s books, as well as an in-depth knowledge of co-edition production processes, licensing and international publishing markets.
Amy's favourite part of the job is building strong working relationships with clients, and she can always be relied upon for excellent customer service and a friendly, unflappable and organised approach. She particularly loves expressive and character-driven artwork across the commercial spectrum.

In counterpoint to these happy welcomes, however, we are also saying a very fond farewell (temporarily, at least) to the lovely Susan Penny whom has been working alongside the agents within the Commercial and Educational divisions for the last three months and is now leaving us to have a baby.
Today (21st September) will be Susan's last day in the office before her maternity leave commences, so please kindly direct any Commercial or Fiction enquiries to either Robyn or Amy from this point.
We're sure you will join us in wishing Susan all the very best as she embarks on this amazing and wonderful new chapter - and hope that Baby Penny is a super sleeper!
