March was wonderful for our visitation, we experienced a high volume of school groups and general visitor to the exhibition Sharing Our Stories: We Are One – so thank you to all who attended.

PLEASE NOTE: We will be closed on ANZAC Day, Saturday, April 25.

We hope you are enjoying receiving information about our programs and exhibitions this way. Please feel free to provide feedback to us at artsspace@wodonga.vic.gov.au

Current exhibition: Albury Abstracts

Abstract

IMAGE: Exit-Still Life (detail), Robert Jacks, graphite on paper, AlburyCity Collection

Today to Saturday, April 30

Arts Space Wodonga, in partnership with AlburyCity, is proud to present Albury Abstracts, selected works from the AlburyCity Collection.

Spanning four decades from the 1950s through to the 1980s, these paintings and works on paper showcase fine examples in the representation of abstract art in Australia.

Albury Abstracts is a varied yet surprising selection from the AlburyCity collection, allowing a glimpse of how abstraction in its many forms was received and acquired within a regional area.

It gives reference to Australia’s art history of abstract art, moving from figurative modernism to geometric abstractionism and then to colour field during the 1960s through to the 1980s.
