No Images? Click here Dear Friend of PLC Girls with GritAngela Duckworth defines grit as 'passion and perseverance for long-term goals'. In young people we see ‘grit’ when they show the ability to persist with something that they feel passionate about and to persevere when they are faced with obstacles and challenges. Grit In Our Junior School StudentsOn Tuesday, we saw grit in many of the Junior School girls who competed at the JIGSSA Cross Country. It was not just during the run that the girls displayed grit, but also in the weeks preceding the event. Through weeks of cold early morning training, the girls still had smiles on their faces and a great attitude! Every girl gave her best and persevered through the hot weather on Tuesday. We saw our girls being brave and having a go. It was wonderful to see the students not only applauding their peers, but competing schools too. We had some excellent results on the day, including Amberley Osborne finishing in second place in the Year 4 race and the Year 4 team winning their Year level pennant. I am so proud of every girl who competed and their approach to the day. Congratulations to you all! - Ms Cate Begbie, Principal PLC/Scotch Parents SundownerDate: Saturday 21 September School HolidaysDate: Friday 27 September - Monday 14 October Open Garden DayDate: Friday 25 October Please note that all parent events are listed in the Communications & Engagement section of Links. Outdoor Education Programmes offer students an opportunity to learn much about themselves and how to work with their peers. These programmes often take students out of their comfort zone, while encouraging them to take risks.
