Former The Voice Australia contestant, Ricky Nifo will be jamming away to the tunes and sounds of summer. When: Saturday 9 March, 4pm-8pm Council Closure Notice Council offices including the Libraries will be closed tomorrow for an Industry Public Holiday. Normal hours will resume Monday 11 March. Council essential services will continue as normal and are contactable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergencies on 9748 9999. Homebush West Town Centre Upgrade Strathfield Council is working to improve the appearance of Henley Road. The project will commence today with the section of Henley Road between The Crescent and Exeter becoming One Way. Council will have traffic controllers on site to assist with delivery access to businesses, traffic and pedestrian movements. Construction work will begin in the next couple of weeks. Change Starts with You Did you get your gloves on this Clean Up Australia Day? A big thank you to local members of our community who put in hours of work to keep Strathfield beautiful! There were approximately 2,000 people who took part to collect 800 bags = 200 bins full of litter! Celebrate International Women’s DayThis Year we’re partnering with Pink Hope; a preventative health organisation that works to support women at-risk of ovarian and breast cancer. Be part of International Women’s Day by making a donation to Pink Hope and empowering other women! Looking for Aged Day Care? Did you know Strathfield Council provides a centre-based Aged Day Care program? Synthetic Fields Underway The ground is currently being prepared for two new synthetic fields at Strathfield Park and Cooke Park. The fields are expected to be completed by mid-year and will no doubt bring hours of enjoyment to our local sports stars! Strathfield District Park Hudson Park Golf Course is now closed and in the process of being decommissioned. Work will then begin on the site in preparation for the new District Park. Council is excited to bring this new green space to residents! Calling All Young Voices! Are you a passionate advocate for Sydney? The Greater Sydney Commission is seeking nominations for a Youth Panel on shaping Greater Sydney’s future. The Commission will appoint one youth representative for each of the five districts; Eastern City, Western City, Central City, North and South.
