Food Recalls Update Verifiers, can you please remind food business – if they identify an incident that may lead to a food recall, to contact yourselves as well as MPI's Food Compliance Services team at the earliest opportunity. The team has been updating recall templates for point of sale and newspaper notices, available on Food recall documents. Read more. Close-out Dates for Approvals Applications Please note: most MPI sites will be closed from midday on 24 December 2020, and will open again on 5 January 2021. There will be minimal staff attendance on 24 December. For the Animal Products Act, Food Act and Wine Act, completed applications received after 20 November may not be approved until the New Year. Read more. IMPORTANT INFORMATIONThe Co-regulatory Priorities Panel (CPP) is aware that there have been some concerns from councils around the Panel’s monthly dashboards. The dashboard reflects information entered by your council in Titiro and MAPS about food businesses’ verification and registration. The dashboards were restructured recently to focus on the CPP priority areas. Read more. AWARDS2020 Significant Contribution to Food Safety Award This is the fourth year that New Zealand Food Safety has sponsored the Significant Contribution to Food Safety Award, as part of the New Zealand Institute of Food Science and Technology Awards.
