AEF has just released new toolkits to help teachers and school leaders to implement a curriculum that supports Asia capability.

They include the Asia in the secondary English curriculum and Asia in the secondary History curriculum toolkits.

Through the toolkits, explore how to embed Asia and Australia’s engagement with Asia cross-curriculum priority and Intercultural understanding general capability; online resources and learning sequences; and professional learning opportunities and resources. Find out more

Students at Ringwood North Primary School were glued to their school's Polycom unit to watch a dramatic dance and acrobatics performance streamed live from the Sydney Opera house earlier this month. Ringwood North was one of eight schools from across Australia and South Korea watching the Tale of Samulnori performance from their classroom, as part of a broader school strategy of global collaboration through ICT. Students explore Asia-related career opportunities

More than 500 secondary students from around Australia have interacted with AEF Asia Literacy Ambassadors in the last few weeks through school visits, workplace visits and Opening a Door into Asia events.

‘I really feel we got the best immersion into life in Japan and China as we could hope for’ said John Tiernan from University High School following his students’ visit to Asia Literacy Ambassador Andre Bishop’s Japanese restaurant, Kumo Izakaya, and the Confucius Institute at the University of Melbourne.
