BACK TO CLASS FOR THE DEMOLITION WORKFORCE

With the recent announcements made by Government and a release of the tentative timeline for easing the Nationwide lockdown, NDTG are pleased to announce the return of classroom based training courses, with the first announced for 24th March and a full schedule of courses from Monday 12th April 2021. Keep reading the Training Standard for more details! 

To ensure the safety of both operatives and trainers, strict COVID measures have been introduced, which include reduced class sizes (8 per class), 2 metre social distance markings throughout the training center and in classrooms, with temperature checks being taken and recorded for each candidate attending our courses. Operatives will also be able to make use of hand sanitisation points, with regular and robust cleaning of classrooms and bathroom facilities carried out also.

CITB HAVE REINTRODUCED THE ADDITIONAL UNIT GRANTS FOR PLANT NVQS

In September 2020 the CITB withdrew the grant for plant unit achievements as part of it’s review of costs.

After correspondence from NOCN, CITB have concluded that the best approach is to re-instate the grant for additional plant VQ units, whilst including them within the regular VQ entitlements.  For CITB registered companies with up to date levy returns and payments this means;

• An entitlement to one Plant Operations Level 2 vocational qualification (grant rate £600 full qualification), plus up to three additional plant VQ units per lifetime (grant rate £300 per additional unit)
• Access to other plant vocational qualifications at level 2,3 and 4
• Any additional Plant VQ units and qualifications to be counted as part of the normal entitlement for up to a maximum of 4 achievements at each level per individual

CITB will be implementing the change immediately and will be in place early in the new financial year.  They will be updating their website to reflect the changes once made.
