Enrolling to Vote

Remember to enrol or check your enrolment details before the local election on 4 September. Remember, voting is compulsory. 

Non-Residential Roll

If you pay rates on a property in Strathfield but live in a different area, don’t forget to register to be included in the Non-Residential Roll for the upcoming local government election. Applications must be received by 6pm on Monday 26 July 2021.

It’s important that you get tested if you have:

  • Any Covid-19 symptoms, even if only mild
  • Visited a place or travelled on public transport at the same time as a confirmed Covid-19 case
  • Been at an interstate Covid-19 case location during a specific time period

Customer Service Now Closed

In light of the current public health order, Council’s face-to-face Customer Service Centre will be temporarily suspended. However, our customer service advisors are available by phone Monday-Friday between 8.30am – 5.00pm. Council is also contactable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on (02) 9748 9999.

Throwback Thursday

 

Olympian, June Maston (1928-2004)

Olympian, June Maston grew up at 8 Agnes Street, Strathfield. At the 1948 London Olympics she competed in the long jump as well as the 400 metre relay team with Shirley Strickland, winning silver. In 1949 she married fellow Olympian, water polo player Jack Ferguson at St. Anne’s Anglican Church, Strathfield. June was also a physical education teacher, coaching a number of talented athletes from the 1950s until her retirement in 1988. Among them was a young Betty Cuthbert, whom she coached throughout her career. In 1967 June received an MBE. She died of motor neurone disease in 2004.
