    FLO-Design is back! 

    Join us September 23 - October 18th for FLO - Design! A complementary course to FLO-Fundamentals, which supports educators to learn how to facilitate learning in asynchronous environments.

    FLO-Design is asynchronous (learn when it works for you!) with some synchronous elements (learning together!) focused on important elements of educational design and the intentional steps to developing effective learning environments. Register today!

    Funding Opportunities

     

    BCcampus Learning Access Program for Educators (LAP-E) supports applicants to allow them to participate and share their ideas as well as learn from others. BCcampus aims to provide a diverse set of voices to its events and will balance regional participation with budget limitations.

    The LAP-E assists with registration fees as well as travel, per diem, and accommodation costs. We are currently accepting applications for the following events:

      • FLO Design 
      • ETUG Fall Workshop 
      • Introduction to Liberating Structures
      • 2019 Symposium: Learning Transformation
      • FLO Fundamentals

      Announcing BCcampus’ 2019 Open Education Sustainability Grant Recipients

      In 2019, BCcampus will continue to advance the province’s open and affordable education vision by working closely with B.C.’s post-secondary institutions to not only continue to build the B.C. Open Textbook Collection, but allow colleges, institutes and universities to take the next step toward campus-based open education sustainability by integrating these practices and methods of teaching and learning into their current systems.       Open Ed updates

      • Rajiv Jhangiani, of KPU, has created slide decks to accompany the open textbooks  Principles of Social Psychology, 1st International edition and Principles of Social Psychology, now posted by each as an ancillary resource.

      For the most current open education information, take a look at these continuously updated directories:

      • Information Directory - research, articles, blogs, books related to open education in Canada, the U.S., Global North, and Global South regions
      • Post-Secondary Directory - An inventory of all things open for each post-secondary institution in B.C., and every province and territory in Canada

      We are looking for Subject Matter Experts (SME) from B.C. or other parts of Canada to review textbooks being considered for the B.C. Open Textbook Collection. See the list of Books open for review by Canadian faculty. Contact bookreviews@bccampus.ca if you are interested in providing an SME review.
       

      Help us identify the gaps

      Contact opentext@bccampus.ca if you would like to see open textbooks made available for specific subject areas in the B.C. Open Textbook Collection. In particular, we'd like to hear of topics in these areas: business, early childhood education (ECE), health, STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), and trades.
