Principal's Message This year has taught us the value of reflection, evaluation and adjustment and I must congratulate our students, teachers and our parents for working closely with the campus to implement COVID-19 changes, keeping connected through the parent portal, our newsletters, Facebook and our website. National Skills Week - Orchestra of Skills Skills can help you: save a life, grow a garden, create a thing of beauty, build a house, produce a vaccine, foil a cyber attack, design clothing, make a movie or create legacy. At Hastings Secondary College we promote the concept of learning while doing. We encourage our students to discover their natural skills and reach their full potential, no matter the career or educational pathways they choose. Our Academic and Vocational Educational (VET) pathways prepare our youth for a lifetime of skills. The Skillsroad website is an excellent resource for students and parents to explore skills and career pathways. Our College Careers Adviser, Mrs Shaw is available to discuss career pathways and guide students. Apprenticeships & Traineeships with Transport for NSW The 2021 intake of regional apprentices and trainees has commenced and there are great opportunities for school leavers. If you know of anyone in your community or network who is interested in completing an apprenticeship or traineeship through Transport for NSW, please help us in promoting these positions to them.
