Ben Kremer and Bill Manolakoudis – Building Maintenance

We are part of the new Building Maintenance Team, and as such we are responsible for the repairs and maintenance of all Council buildings assets. Recent major projects that we have been involved in include the restoration of 69 Redmyre Road and the amenities building upgrade at the Council Depot.  It’s always a great feeling when we compare the difference before and after we’ve completed repairs, and love seeing the final product of our hard work!

Throwback Thursday

Arnott’s Rail Bridge

The Great Northern Railway (or Main North Line) starts at Strathfield Station and travels to the Central Coast, Hunter and New England districts in NSW. The railway line originally crossed Parramatta Road as a level crossing, however it was replaced with an overhead railway bridge in 1914.

This bridge is known locally as Arnott’s Bridge as it has carried advertisements for Arnott’s Biscuits since the 1930s. The advertisements have been updated over time.
