We will not meet on Jewish and national holidays. SOAR Yoga Tuesdays through May 21 Participants will immerse themselves in this therapeutic program designed to increase body awareness, strength, and flexibility. We will teach calming techniques for the overburdened sensory system, quiet a busy head, and soothe the nervous system. SOAR Tennis Tuesdays, April 23-May 21 Led by a tennis coach and experienced volunteers, SOAR Tennis emphasizes team play, sportsmanship, and coordination skills and is a great way to get some exercise! Arts + Culture ProgramsAmazing Art Wednesdays, April 24-May 22 Have fun creating great art with your friends. This creative class will take place in the Kuniansky Family Center's spacious art studio, where we will explore different artists and mediums in a friendly environment. Book Club Wednesdays, April 24-May 22 Registration must increase for this program to run! Please sign up today for our first-ever Blonder Book Club! We will meet and discuss a book that we choose together. Each week, we will get further into our story and talk about what we've read as a group! Adaptive reading materials will be provided. Volunteer for the JCC Maccabi Games®! The MJCCA is excited to be hosting the 2019 Maccabi Games®, an Olympic-style sporting competition for Jewish teenagers, held each summer in North America. The Blonder department has committed to providing volunteers throughout the games. Jobs will include providing water to athletes, setting up and cleaning up lunch, field set up and clean up, and more. Jobs will vary depending on the needs of the games that day. Please come ready to work hard, both indoors and outdoors, but also to have fun! Volunteer shifts are Monday, July 29 through Thursday, August 1, 9:00-11:00 am and 12:00-2:00 pm. Sign up for as many shifts as you'd like! If you volunteer for both shifts, there will be a lunch break from 11:00-12:00. After submitting your RSVP you will be contacted to complete a volunteer registration form and to determine which shift(s) you are available for. Volunteers must be 18 years old by July 29, 2019. Jackson Transitions Program The Ruth B. Jackson Transitions program, within the Blonder Family Department for Special Needs, is designed especially for young adults ages 22-27 with mild to moderate autism or related conditions who benefit from a structured, small-group environment.For more information, email Elizabeth Knapp or call 678.812.4095. This summer, July 28th - August 2nd, the MJCCA will host, 1,600 Jewish Teens for a week filled with competition, sportsmanship, and community service. The JCC Maccabi Games are the perfect way to highlight Atlanta and we need your help. The Games will require the guiding hands of more than 1,500 volunteers.
