Office of the Registrar General update

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Office of the Registrar General, thank you for your support this year. An enduring feature for 2021 is the strong collaboration on multiple fronts to minimise the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on the land title system. Thanks again.

We have just a few final updates below, before we say goodbye to 2020.

Further below you’ll find information on how to provide input to the strata statutory review and feedback on our proposed approach to removing paper titles in NSW, including the proposed draft changes to relevant Acts.

You’ll also find the latest on market structure reforms supporting an efficient multi-operator eConveyancing market, so practitioners who subscribe to one Electronic Lodgement Network Operator (ELNO) will be able to complete a transaction with those of another ELNO, without having to subscribe to them both.

In the meantime, please note NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS) Lodgment Office will be closed some days over the holiday period. Read the full announcement here to ensure you are aware of any alternative arrangements: www.nswlrs.com.au/About/About/Announcements/117

Our office will closed from Friday 25 December 2020 until Friday 8 January 2021. Please contact us via email if you need anything during this time, and we will do our best to respond quickly: ORG-Admin@customerservice.nsw.gov.au

We hope you have a happy and safe break, and we all look forward to working with you in the new year.

Kind regards
Jeremy Cox
NSW Registrar General

You might be wondering why we are spelling out links now? It’s because latest best practice advice in the fight against phishers and scammers involves presenting full URLs—instead of hyperlinks, when directing people to information, documents or other links. It might take a little longer to read, but hopefully you can see the links we send are safe to open.
