JFC Construction Update - Construction Progress - Issue 35 - 24 April 2020 Karangahape Road under alert level 3We hope you are doing well during this time. As you will be aware, the Karangahape Road Enhancement Project has been safely closed for the duration of the level 4 alert period. We would now like to provide an update following on from the Government announcement that New Zealand will move into level 3 from Tuesday 28 April 2020. Auckland Transport and JFC has used the time in COVID-19 alert level 4 to plan the return to work with a safety focused approach. We plan to resume work from Tuesday 28 April 2020 in construction areas detailed below. Although our aim is to return to work as quickly as possible to minimise delays, our priority will be to ensure the safety of our workers and the general public. As such, the pace of work under alert level 3 may not be as rapid as it is under normal circumstances. Health and safety and physical distancingWe would like to assure you that our teams will be following strict health, safety and physical distancing guidelines. This is to ensure the safety of our staff and the community. Each project site has developed a Health and Safety Plan based on Ministry of Health Guidance and industry best practice. At level 3 these measures include:
Assisting businesses during alert level 3 and what we need fromWe understand that the change in how we all operate in these unusual times will be a key factor in keeping businesses going. We have worked with AT to accommodate temporary parking in non traditional parking spaces for collection of goods. The plan below shows where these pick up points are along Karangahape Road, and can be shared with your customers. These parking spaces are to be shared by all businesses, and are not to be used as long term parking. For now parking in AT’s Upper Queen Street building continues to be free with no time restrictions. Please see the temporary parking locations indicated below: Please look out for these signs which will be going up early next week: We would like to help accommodate Karangahape Road businesses in the new norm of operations where we can. Our Stakeholder Liaison, Mara will be liaising with businesses affected by our works to discuss individual operations under level 3. We also encourage you to make contact with us this week on 0800 KRD JFC (0800 573 532) or karangahaperoad@jfcltd.co.nz about how you’re operating.
