HSC Minimum StandardsLiteracy and numeracy skills are essential for success in life after school. This is why a minimum standard of literacy and numeracy will be required to receive the Higher School Certificate from 2020.
Testing will take place at both Hastings Secondary College campuses from 8 to 22 March.

Parent Teacher Interviews The College holds Parent Teacher evenings on different nights to enable parents of cross campus students to attend both.

NAPLAN Testing NAPLAN tests are held in May each year for students in Years 7 and 9. Testing for 2019 will be held between 14 - 24 May 2019.

here we come!Westport Campus Year 7 students received their chicks last week and over the next six weeks will prepare for the 2019 Sydney Royal Easter Show.
OnSTAGE Drama Year 10 and 11 Drama students and teachers enjoyed a quick trip to Sydney last Friday to see exemplary HSC Onstage performances and projects. OnSTAGE is a presentation and exhibition of impeccable group and individual performances and projects by HSC Drama students.
The excursion provided students with a deeper understanding of the requirements and standards of HSC Drama.
Students were well and truly overwhelmed and grateful for the experience.
Fundraising SupportMr Ross is sharing his moves and practising for Dancing with the Stars with Year 10 Drama. The class were very impressed with his dancing and graciously took the opportunity to replicate his style. Meeting the GovernorLast week College students were invited to spend time with His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retired), Governor of NSW and Mrs Hurley.
Students spoke to the Governor on issues affecting youth of the Port Macquarie-Hastings.
The Vice Regal Couple undertake regular travel to regional areas as a part of their commitment to engage with communities right across NSW. Their trip will also include visits to Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Dorrigo.
Cricket Team Seals a Thrilling One Wicket Win!Hastings Secondary College Girls Cricket Team became the hero of a nail-biting one-wicket victory defeating Oxley High School by just 1 wicket.
The team is now placed in the top 4 in the state and will travel to Bathurst to play in the semi-final on 2 and 3 April.

Port Macquarie Ironman Volunteering - Sun 5 MayWestport Campus is running the aid station at Town Beach from approximately 8.00am to 11.30pm.
Volunteers IRONMANWe require 140 students from Years 7 - 12 to volunteer some time to help work in 4 hour shifts. Roles will include food and drink prep and handing the product to the athletes as they run past.
All volunteers receive a hat and shirt and are provided with lunch. Parents also welcome.
