Year 7 Camp Seventy three students and four teachers ventured out from Port campus for 3 days of fun and adventure at the Great Aussie Bush Camp at Tea Gardens. The trip was only 2 hours so we arrived for an early lunch and were then ready to hit the activities. Police Liaison Visit Hastings Secondary College Port Macquarie Campus, Years 9 and 10 students participated in drug awareness workshops as preventative approaches that are being rolled out by the police to combat the issue. Girls Can Too - Try a Trade Day Year 9 and 10 girls from Port Macquarie campus participated in ‘Girls Can Too - Try a Trade Day’ at Kempsey TAFE . Bell Shakespeare Work Experience Applications open 6 May & close 8 July, 5pm. WORK EXPERIENCE WEEK: 4-8 November. Students in Year 10 and 11 are invited to apply for one week of Work Experience at Bell Shakespeare HQ in Sydney from 4-8 November 2019. Robotics Success Team 6508 had a bumpy start to the weekend with a few adjustments needed to autonomous vision driving which had us ranked fairly low after the first game. Once the problems were overcome by our pit crew and mechanic team, Team 6508 soared to the top, ranking in the top 8 for most of their games on Saturday. Health Careers Forum Students from Year 11 and 12 travelled to Taree in Week 7 for the 2019 Health Careers Forum held at the Manning Education Centre of the University of Newcastle. Careers Excursion - Year 11 The Footnotes 2019 Careers Rural Roadshow will be held at Mackillop College, Ocean Drive, Port Macquarie on Thursday 4 April 2019. In this Roadshow students will have an interactive look into career exploration and planning. The school will provide transport with a bus leaving the campus at 9.10am and returning at 11.45am. The expectation is for all Year 11 students at the school to attend this excursion. There will be no timetabled classes at this time. Breakfast Club The Port Macquarie campus runs a Breakfast Club each morning from 7am till 8.30pm. Shelby selected in north Coast Netball Representative Team Last Thursday the Open Girls Netball team travelled to Macksville to participate in rounds 1 and 2 of the State Knockout Competition. Calling for IRONMAN Volunteers Port Macquarie Campus are looking for student volunteers to help run the drink and food station at the old 'Food For Less' car park. Come and put your name down at the PE staff room if you would like to volunteer. More information will be given out closer to the end of term 1. Swimmers excel at Zone Swimming Hastings Secondary College was well represented at the Zone Swimming Carnival at Macksville. Congratulations to all of our team who participated. A special mention goes out to Kayle Enfield who was the 15yrs Boys Age Champion. Purple Day Epilepsy Fundraiser Port Macquarie Campus will be fundraising for epilepsy on Friday 29 March. Come dressed in purple and pay a gold coin on entry to the campus. Cassidy started Purple Day in an effort to get people talking about the condition and to let those impacted by seizures know that they are not alone.
