NOTICES:

Imp
ortant Notice:

From Monday 12th November, the Primary gates will not be opened until 2:55pm ready for a 3:00pm collection. This is due to the fact that many lessons are still taking place at this time and children may be working in the playground. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.

Parents should not be waiting in the Front Office reception area after 4:30pm without a staff member. If you are waiting to collect from a club you must wait outside the building.

Morning break snacks are to be fruit (fresh, dried etc) not biscuits or cereal bars. Please leave these items for lunch or after school clubs snacks.

It is important that parents model good behaviour for children. Please do not swear or use insulting language in the playground. If a member of staff hears this you will be asked to leave the premises and may be banned.

Please also remember that our staff are always working for the best interests of the children. If you would like to discuss anything regarding your child please speak to the class teacher, Mrs Drummond or Miss Dilger. Please do not shout or be rude to a member of staff as this makes the situation very difficult.

Time to Celebrate!

This week in Reception saw the culmination of our project and we invited all of our families to celebrate with us! It was a wonderful afternoon filled with storytelling, eating, dancing, and sharing our fantastic learning with our special people. We particularly enjoyed tasting foods from different cultures and learning stories and songs for Diwali, Hanukkah and Christmas. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and celebrate with us.

Stories of Stratford

As the term comes to an end, Year 2’s final project has come to a close. All the children are very happy with their final product. Each child has told the story of a member of the Stratford community. They have then taken many weeks drawing and re-drafting a portrait of the community member who told the story. The children showed a huge amount of grit and craft as others critiqued their writing and drawings and they perfected them ready for the website where they are now displayed. The drawings and stories have been collated on a website inspired by ‘Humans of New York’ which is a popular website of stories from local people. What makes our website different is that it is the stories of our community, stories from Stratford.

If you want to see the website yourself, here are the links:

Fundraising Success

A huge thank you from Einstein, Shakespeare and Da Vinci classes for helping us raise £318.64 for our chosen charity as part of our project! The Help the Refugees UK fundraiser was a roaring success and we are so grateful for all your support! The children used their amazing organisation skills and ran the event with professionalism and eloquence in order to make it an enjoyable and educational experience for all those who came. The money will go towards supporting families rebuilding their lives after leaving their countries so the children have made a real difference to so many people in need! Congratulations Year 3!

Christmas Jumper Day

We had a fantastic Christmas Dinner last Friday. It was wonderful to see everyone in their fantastic jumpers.

Overdue Library Books

Please return your overdue library books! We currently have over 500 books overdue. This means that students are unable to borrow popular books.

Students are allowed to borrow up to three books for a loan period of one month and can be renewed after this period should the need arise. Any books that are lost or damaged must be replaced.
