As St Michael's Collegiate School celebrates its 125th anniversary, I look forward to reflecting with many of you throughout the year. It is amazing to think that only 15 short years after the Women’s Prison at the Cascades Female Factory in South Hobart closed its doors, a school was founded just down the road to empower women through education. 125th AnniversaryA touching anniversary message was recently received by the School from Sister Dorothea, Principal of Collegiate from 1953-1955. Inspiring Old Girls GalleryAn 'Inspiring Old Girl's' galley has recently been launched on the School website, profiling some of Collegiate's remarkable alumni. The School plans to add to this throughout its 125th year and into the future, and would love to hear your suggestions on who we should include as an ‘inspiring old girl’ - maybe you? Reunion WeekendIn 2017 St Michael's Collegiate School is planning a mega Reunion Weekend from Friday 22 September to Sunday 24 September. Included in the celebrations will be tours of the school, art exhibitions, music concerts and special presentations by esteemed old girls. Put these dates in your diary, and if you are travelling from interstate or overseas, make your travel plans now. We’ll be in touch with more news later. Hong Kong CelebrationThe School extends a warm welcome to Old Girls and their families to come together in Hong Kong on Wednesday 1 March 2017 to mark the occasion of the 125th anniversary. The event will be held at the rooftop FoFo by El Willy Spanish bar, 20/F M88, Wellington Place, 2-8 Wellington Street, Central, Hong Kong at 6.00pm. The Community of the Sisters of the Church ScholarshipCollegiate is delighted to announce a new scholarship! The Community of the Sisters of the Church Scholarship provides the opportunity for daughters, granddaughters and nieces of Collegiate Old Girls to attend the School who may not otherwise be able to do so without financial assistance. The scholarship is equivalent of up to 50% of tuition fees and is tenable until the end of Year 12. Cananore is located on the Senior School Campus of Collegiate with entry via Davey Street.
