Dear Eagles, It’s hard to believe November is upon us! Foremost, this month marks Native American Heritage Month and provides us with an opportunity for reflection on the history, cultures, traditions, and resiliency of Native Americans. It is also a time to express gratitude and kindness to fellow community members and those closest to us as we enter the holiday season. I believe that creating an environment where everyone is seen, heard, and well-served is a shared responsibility. Therefore, I want to encourage you to take part
in the Student Experience Survey a university-wide initiative, that helps us gather student feedback on what we are doing well, and also identifies areas in need of more support. Please check your email for your individualized link to this important opportunity. This week is filled with a wide-array of programming including Love Your Body Week, International Education Week, and a First-Gen Week panel discussion, all of which celebrates our diverse community and makes BC such a special place to live, learn, and grow. Finally, as midterm elections are tomorrow, be sure to refer to the Civic Engagement webpage for resources including
where to vote if you are registered with a BC address. Sincerely,
Dr. Shawna Cooper Whitehead
Vice President for Student Affairs

2022 Midterms, A Clough Conversation
Thursdya, Nov. 10 | 12-1p.m.What just happened? This fall's campaign season saw the intensification of worrying trends in US politics, from political violence and election denialism to the spread of disinformation on social media. But other indicators suggest US democracy is healthier than it looks. Candidates across the country engaged in vigorous campaigns that gave voters real choices at the ballot box. Early reports suggest that voters responded with increased turnout.
