Capita SIMS Technical Roadmap Windows Server 2008 Support - End of Life Capita Children’s Services Technical Roadmap states that Capita no longer support SIMS servers and SIMS learning Gateway servers running the following Operating Systems: Windows Server 2008 Capita will also cease support of SIMS servers and SIMS learning Gateway servers running the following Operating Systems after the Autumn 2019 release: Windows Server 2008 SP2 This means that Capita will not test the Spring 2020 release on any versions of Windows Server 2008 and are highly unlikely to provide support for schools running these Operating Systems after the Spring release. Windows SQL Server 2012 support - End of Life After the Spring release of 2020, Capita will no longer support SQL Server 2012, with the exception of SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 4, which will be supported until Spring 2022. SQL Server 2014 and 2016 SP1 are supported products. SIMS Compatibility with Microsoft Office SIMS continues to be compatible with Microsoft Office 2013 and above. However, Office 365 is not supported by Capita. What should schools do now? EIS strongly advise that schools should review their SIMS platform and devise an upgrade/replacement strategy where necessary to ensure that the school SIMS environment complies with the Capita Roadmap before the Spring release of 2020. |
