Wednesday evening, in the presence of more than 500 professionals, Brussels Airport Company has been awarded for the second year in a row with the prestigious title of ‘Airport of the Year’ at the World Air Cargo Awards. It is an international reward for the airport’s commitment to cargo development and drive for innovation and efficient cargo operations. The other nominees were Dubai International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport and Seoul Incheon Airport.

This award is a true recognition for the work and efforts of the thousands of people who are working at BRUcargo and proves that our strategy to continuously invest in the development of the area, even in times of economic uncertainties, has been the right choice.

“We are enormously proud of the results of our mutual efforts the past few years, attracting new airlines, setting the new standards for pharmaceutical airfreight and developing a real BRUcargo community that is also active in the cloud,” says Steven Polmans, Head of Cargo. “We will keep investing in training programs that allow our partners to excel in their businesses and are already busy realising our plans to further improve the cold chain requirements for the shipping of pharmaceuticals and perishables.”

Today however, we insist on expressing our gratitude to our airport community, as they have proven to believe in our project by voting for us. We are well aware that without the help, support and efforts of all of our partners, we can never be successful. This is a team effort and therefore we dedicate this award to the entire BRUcargo community.
