Interested in earning Excel Expert certification?

Microsoft Office Specialist Certification

The Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications demonstrate to potential employers that you have the skills needed to get the most out of Excel. Enroll in BUAD 299 Section 501 for Second Session Fall 2020 before October 1 and you can be an Expert by December. The course includes the Excel Expert certification exam, exam practice software, and content review videos.  More information about the skills tested on the exam can be found HERE. Fall Virtual Job Fair Week

It's this week!

Graves Business Plan Competition

Apply for the Graves Business Plan Competition

UT students who have a business idea or early-stage startup are invited to apply to the Graves Business Plan Competition. The semi-annual pitch competition is accepting applications through October 5. Prizes of $5,000, $3,000, and $2,000 are awarded in both the growth and lifestyle business categories. Find out how you can apply.
 

Vol Court

Wednesdays | 5:15pm - 6:15pm | via Zoom

Vol Court includes four speakers sessions conducted by successful entrepreneurs and UT faculty and experts. Sessions are held Wednesday evenings from 5:15 to 6:15. Participants who attend all speaker sessions will be eligible to pitch in week five. Prizes up to $1,500 plus prize packages are awarded to the competition winners. There is no application or cost to attend this series, and participants are not required to pitch in order to attend.

HCB Virtual International Programs

Don’t forget – the HCB Virtual International Programs deadline is this Wednesday, September 30th at 11:59 pm. These programs are open to all students, however International Business Collaterals / Concentrations that are Spring, Summer, and Fall 2021 graduates may use these programs to fulfill their IB 489 requirement.

HCB Virtual International Program Spotlight: Area Studies

One of the five HCB Virtual International Program options for students is to enroll in an Area Studies course at UTK. For this program, students may select from any number of Area Studies courses on campus and then fulfil their requirement by writing a reflective paper on their course.

Chancellor’s COVID-19 Update
Join Chancellor Plowman for regular livestream updates on COVID-19 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Twice a week, members of her team will join her to share the latest data for our campus, discuss recent developments, and look ahead to the coming days and weeks.

Spring 2021 Academic Calendar Correction
A change has been made to the spring academic calendar to adjust an error made when the calendar was updated last week. Classes will end on April 28. Final exams will take place April 30 and May 3–6.

Flu Vaccine Events
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is offering flu vaccine clinics to support students in meeting vaccination requirements. CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses. Getting a flu vaccine during 2020-2021 will be more important than ever.

The first flu vaccine event will be held on October 1 from 9 a.m.–6 p.m. at the TRECS basketball courts and registration is currently open.

Help for Food Insecurity
September is National Hunger Action Month and is particularly crucial this year because of COVID-19. An estimated 54 million people are food insecure in 2020. Below are several UT organizations that work to lessen food insecurity on our campus and surrounding community:
