ePlanning Portal

From 1 July 2020, all planning applications, including Development Applications and Complying Development Certificates for Strathfield Council will need to be electronically lodged online via the NSW Government Planning Portal. The new process enables customers to lodge anytime using the online portal. Paper applications will no longer be accepted.

Council’s Duty Planners are available on 02 9748 9999 or council@strathfield.nsw.gov.au to provide advice and assistance.

Thank You, Strathfield!

Council would like to thank everyone who contributed generously to the Neighbour2Neighbour program. More than 70 volunteers donated their time and essential items to assist over 30 community members in need. Remaining essential items were donated to St Paul’s Burwood, a charity that caters for people experiencing homelessness and unemployment.

Throwback Thursdays

Miss Olive Pink (1884-1975) and Bedford College

The Strathfield area has long been home to many schools. This postcard of Bedford College was sent to former art teacher, Miss Olive Pink in 1914. Born in Hobart, she had taught briefly at the girls’ college before the war. In later life she made her home in Alice Springs becoming an Aboriginal rights activist, anthropologist and gardener. Today, the Olive Pink Botanic Garden continues her legacy. The college at 99 Albert Road Strathfield has had a number of uses over the years and is now home to the Catholic Institute of Sydney.
