Date and time: Sunday 20 July, 10am – 12pm Union Recreation Club of RedmyreIn 1881 the first meeting to establish the Union Recreation Club of Redmyre (renamed Strathfield in 1886) was held in T B Rolin’s home. The club was formed to provide recreational amusements and cost 875 pounds. The Club became famous as the centre for high-quality competitive social tennis, organising many lawn bowls and tennis matches. It was an important meeting place for politicians, merchants, public servants and other professionals. On 28 October 1913 the club’s name was changed to the present Strathfield Recreation Club.
