FALL HIRING EVENT

BC WiN is trying something new - after all, innovation is at the core of our brand DNA!   We are now receiving applications to take part in our invitation only Fall Hiring Event, aimed at pre-screening qualified job seekers with disabilities/diverse abilities interested in working with ICBC, London Drugs, Vancity and World Duty Free.  All employers recognized for inclusive hiring in British Columbia!

These employers are committed to workforce inclusion of people with disabilities/diverse abilities and will work with motivated job seekers to create an environment where everyone can do their best work, which includes making workplace adjustments, if needed.  The entry level job opportunities BC WiN is screening for can also transition into long-term career growth and progression.  Positions include:

  • Financial Services Representatives (2020 start) - branch level at Vancity
  • Stocking, Cashiering and Sales with London Drugs
  • Entry Level Warehouse team at the London Drugs Distribution Service Centre
  • Retail and Warehouse Operator (light duty warehouse) with World Duty Free @ YVR
  • Claims Support Assistants with ICBC in multiple locations in the lower mainland, as well as Call Centre Agents and admin focused positions at Head Office

How It Works:

Similar to our regular recruitment process on behalf of employer partners, qualified job seekers with disabilities/diverse abilities are welcome to apply for an interview during the BC WiN Fall Hiring Event by November 13, 2019.

  • For this opportunity, candidates are asked to include a cover letter that highlights position(s) of interest and key strengths in relation to the opportunity
  • We would love to know more about each applicant - diversity is a strength - what strengths, attributes, qualifications and experience would each bring?
  • Submit resume, cover and completed referral form to Jasmine Marchant via email
  • Be sure to include any adjustments that would bring out the candidate's best during the interview and if hired, at work
  • An Inclusive Workforce Consultant will be in contact regarding scheduling qualified job seekers for an in-person interview during the Fall Hiring Event
  • Following the hiring event, screened-in candidates will be recommended to employers for an additional fast-tracked interview

*** Please note, now that we have expanded through to July 2021, BC WiN will sending an updated Service Partner agreement to all employment service agencies interested in referring candidates with disabilities/diverse abilities to employment opportunities with the employers we recruit for.  Watch for it the week of November 4th and if you haven't seen it already, here is a link to our September 25th press release announcing our expansion.
