EMTC and COVID-19 Update #1

As you are all aware the situation regarding COVID-19 in Australia is changing daily, and even hourly at the moment.

We are following our governing body, Tennis Victoria (who are also liaising with Tennis Australia).
Please see the link to their website with the latest information:
https://www.tennis.com.au/vic/news-and-events/news

At this point the relevant Associations we compete in are making decisions on what goes ahead and what doesn't. At the time of writing this is what we know:

Midweek Ladies Comps: MEMRLTA & EDWTA have been supsended until further notice.
WDTA are continuing at this stage.

BDNTA (Blackburn District Night Comp):  (As per email already sent to all players) They will continue for Rounds 7 & 8 until the Easter break. We recommend you do not partake in the social gathering and sharing of food afterwards.

WDTA Night, Senior & Junior Compettition: They have an execxutive committee meeting tonight and will advise us tomorrow of the outcome.  We will email all players of these competitions when we hear.

Tennis Vic Winter 2020 Pennant: Postponed until further notice.

COACHING: With regard to Coaching at EMTC the decision is up to Futures Tennis Academy. All classes are continuing at the moment and if you have any questions please contact them directly on 9813 8484  info@futurestennis.com.au.

If you are at the Club please ensure you follow the guidelines as per State and Federal Departments of Health:

Federal: https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert

State: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

We suggest you do not use the shared water bubblers at EMTC at this point, and instead bring your own water bottle.

We have handwash, and posters on how to correclty wash your hands, in the toilets (towels have been removed at this stage and you should bring your own or use the hand dryer).

There is no anitbacterial handwash available at our supplier (or any supplier I suspect) and they advise to properly wash your hands to prevent the spread of disease.

We hope everyone stays safe and well, and please remember to be courteous and kind to your fellow human.
