There are some exciting changes coming to the DSI version of EFDC and how we license and distribute the EFDC_Explorer package. For details on these changes, please read on!

A New and Improved EFDC Model

Dynamic Solutions-International is dedicated to providing all of our customers with the best products we can. In the past we had separate versions of our model that were sold separately. With the release of Sigma Zed we have decided to combine all of these different versions into a single, powerful model, EFDC+. This new version of EFDC will be packaged as part of the standard EFDC_Explorer license.

We are adding to our licensing options! These changes are designed to provide more options for our customers as well as increase the amount of effort we can put towards future development. As of the EE8 release, our licensing options will be as follows...

Perpetual License

• These licenses grant the user unrestricted access to our software without expiration.
• A perpetual license grants access to EFDC+ (EFDC_DSI with multi-threading and Sigma-Zed).
• Uninterrupted annual maintenance will be required to receive new updates/fixes/features.
• Access to the single threaded source code for EFDC.

Rental License

• These licenses grant the user unrestricted access to the latest software for the period of the rental.
• A rental license grants access to EFDC+  for the duration of the rental period.
• Users will have access to new updates/fixes/features for the duration of the rental period.
• Rental periods available will be 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year.
• Access to the single threaded source code for EFDC.

Trial License

• Trial licenses grant the user limited access to our software for a 30-day period. Use of the trial license for commercial purposes is prohibited under the license user agreement.
• Trial license users will have time-restricted access to EFDC+.

New Development Model

In order to provide our users with more regular software updates and new features, we are implementing a new software development model. Historically we have released a new version of our software every 6-8 months with a multitude of new features. To provide more timely and well-tested new features, DSI will now have product releases MORE often with a shorter list of updates in each release.  This will allow us to deliver valuable updates more regularly while working simultaneously towards our next major release of EFDC_Explorer 10.
