FAQ Explained: How does Artswork Professional Development online training work?

Our online training courses are delivered using Zoom video conferencing. You do not need a Zoom account in order to attend training, but you do need to download the free Zoom app  on to a computer that has video capabilities. You can take part in this training from a smart phone by downloading the free Zoom app from your App Store but we would recommend you join the session from a computer, tablet or by connecting your phone to a smart TV in order to see any resources we share to your screen clearly.

In advance of the training session we ask that you test how Zoom works on your device by clicking here. You will need a good internet connection, further support is available here.

Once you have booked a course you will recieve full joining instructions including a Meeting ID Number and Password in your confirmation email and in subsequent reminder emails. You can also find this information if you log in to your Eventbrite account and view the Online Event Page. You will be able to join the meeting using the ID and password 10 minutes before the training is due to start and we would encourage you to do this in order to check everything is working properly. Make sure you 'join with audio' so that you can hear and speak, and that you have a drink, notepad, pen and your device charger close at hand as using Zoom will drain your battery.

Depending on the length of the session you have booked, there will be comfort breaks provided. Unfortunately we cannot pass you the digestives through the screen so BYOB (bring your own biscuits!)

What can I expect during the online training session?

Our training is interactive and engaging. We try to bring as much of the in-person training experience online as possible, giving you opportunities to network with your peers, take part in group activities and ask questions to our expert trainers throughout.

We do not send a recording of the session out to attendees afterwards for safeguarding reasons, but you will be provided with the slides and links to any resources mentioned. You will be asked to fill in a short evaluation form at the end of the session.
