A MESSAGE FROM SCOTT HARDY

Good morning, everyone! Here we are HALFWAY through April and I have to say, it's looking like a better month than March to me. How about you? We're adapting to homeschooling the girls more and more every week. They've got their routines and are getting their work done. My beautiful bride is taking 99% of the heat as the Teacher's Assistant and keeping the girls on track. I just get to step in for the fun stuff like science lessons.

Aubrey asked me for help with her science lesson last week. She said, "Daddy, can you help me with my science experiment? I need wire, a battery, and a light bulb so we can create a circuit!" Me, being the huge nerd I am, got SUPER EXCITED about doing an experiment with Aubrey and excitedly replied, "HECK YES!" I then found out she was NOT in a science mood and wasn't happy we were doing this work. She was a bit burned out on schoolwork for the day and wanted to play. So I made it my point to be "up" and excited about the project as I gathered electrical wire, a battery, light bulb, and wire snips. I didn't actually CHECK her homework assignment. It didn't occur to me that a 9-year-old wouldn't pay close attention to the DETAILS of the assignment, so off we went to ELECTRICIAN-TIME!

After about 30 minutes, we had the light working, Aubrey understanding how the power was flowing through the wires to the LEDs I was using as the light bulb, and Aubrey ENJOYING the experiment! So from my perspective, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! It then occurred to me, "how do we submit this to your teacher?" Aubrey showed me her homework assignment and we found out that she was supposed to go online to a website where you can build circuits, perform experiments and see them animated, and it's super cool. WHOOPS! Well, at least she's a fan of science again and we got to spend some quality time together, and THAT'S WHAT MATTERS!

On the work side of things, we're still kicking butt and putting up new investigations and settlements every week. In addition, here are some more lawsuit and settlement updates!
