Professional DevelopmentConservation Week Taster - 7th August 20191.30pm-4pm | Waipahihi Botanical Gardens Clubrooms For Conservation Week this year (14th-22nd September) Taupō Environmental Education Collaborative (EEC) will be running a district-wide Bio Blitz using the iNaturalist app. Come along and learn how to lead your school in this exciting opportunity to create a district wide knowledge bank of flora and fauna, and discuss how to integrate it into your curriculum. We are also lucky enough to have an
education ranger from Zealandia to introduce us to their Trading Card Game. Learn how to identify birds and fish in a flash and collect your free card set to take back to your school. Please register your interest by Friday 2nd August Trout Centre UpdatesTrout StrippingEach year we strip trout to raise the eggs for the Kids' Fishing Pond at Tongariro National Trout Centre. Winter is the time of year when trout are spawning in our rivers and streams - so it's the perfect time to find ripe hens and jacks to strip. Watch our video from last year to see how we do it. |
