Hi everyone welcome to this edition of Lisa Loves.

The Summer Holidays are now underway, with many of us having already jetted off to Summer destinations and the weather in the UK finally feels like summer.

Congratulations to Andy Murray, Heather Watson, Gordon Reid and Jordanne Whiley for their success at this years Wimbledon just a few weeks ago,  fantastic achievements.

The Summer of sport continues with the Rio Olympics just around the corner and you can catch all the action and atmosphere right here in London at the London Bridge City Summer Festival where you will find the Official Team GB Fanzone.

Away from sport, other events to look out for include RideLondon, The Proms, Buckingham Palace Summer Opening including a special exhibition to celebrate the Queen's 90th.

The Tate Modern's new 'Switch House' extension is now open and already welcomed it's millionth visitor in it's first month and well worth a visit.

It's Pimm's O'clock, anyone for Croquet

My good friend Joe Jaques, who's Great-Great-Grandfather invented Croquet 165 years ago has teamed up with Pimm's, also Celebrating it's 165th anniversary in a rallying cry to the British public to embrace one of the quirks that make British Summers so special. The Pimm’s Cider Extreme Croquet Cup will take the beautiful game away from the manicured lawns of Britain’s stately homes and on to more challenging, unexpected – even extreme – lawns, while staying true to the long-established rules of the game.

Did you know that new research commissioned by Pimm’s Cider Cup shows, despite being popular for generations, we are perilously close to losing some quintessentially British Summer staples, with only small percentages of the population keeping them alive.  Would you believe that more than half of younger adults confuse croquet with potato croquettes!!

To launch the cup, Joe and comedian and croquet-fan Alexander Armstrong signed up for the series of unique croquet matches played across Britain including The White Cliffs of Dover, a rocking boat deck on The Thames and at jaw-dropping heights at The View from the Shard.

To help Croquet and Pimm’s celebrate their 165th anniversaries you too can try your hand at Croquet by coming along to the month-long Pimm’s Cider Croquet Cup residency at The View from the Shard.  You can book a game for you and your family below and enjoy the whole experience on the UK’s Highest Croquet Lawn 800ft above the streets of London.

Take a look too at the fabulous Croquet sets available from Jaques of London.

Pressed is Best

I love the range of cold pressed juices available at CPRESS on the Fulham Road in Chelsea. Cold pressing is a process that involves a slow and gentle squeezing action to extract the juice. No heat and minimal friction is used, ensuring the fruit and vegetable vitamins, minerals and enzymes remain intact during the extraction.

One of favourites is the 'Prime Number' Full of antioxidants and detoxification boosting nutrients. The PN contains Carrot, Pear, Orange, Pineapple, Lemon, Beet and Ginger so it is highly loaded with Vitamin C & A, perfect as an Anti-aging ally.

Product of the Month

Masque No1 from Yon-Ka is perfect for de-hydrated skin. With JoJoba, Bisabolo and Vitamin B5, C and E makes this masque very Soothing, Anti-Dehydrating and Anti-Oxidant.

St Germain

I recently visited the Summertime Series at Somerset House to see St Germain, a french producer who's style merges Jazz with House music, and in their most recent album the sounds of Mali too.  Great tracks such as 'Sure Thing', 'Rose Rouge' and 'So Flute' all of which you will occasionally hear in the clinic.  The evening was made extra special by the historic setting of Somerset House and perfect weather conditions.

Ab-Fab and Funny

I went to see Absolutely Fabulous the Movie recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great moments such as Patsy injecting herself with botox set the tone for our dysfunctional duo's adventure through Fashion and PR.  Plenty of cameo roles too including Kate Moss who is central to the storyline have been accidentally 'Murdered' by Eddy causing her and Patsy to go on the run to the South of France. All the original cast feature including a 90 year old June Whitfield so Grab some Bolly and enjoy the Britcom party Darling.

Chakra

Another handy step by step guide provided by the Yoga Journal.

Anjali Mudra
Sit comfortably in Siddhasana or stand in Tadasana. Inhale and bring your palms together. Rest the thumbs lightly on your sternum.
Press the hands firmly but evenly against each other. Make sure that one hand (usually your right hand if you are right-handed, your left if left-handed) doesn’t dominate the other. If you find such imbalance, release the dominant hand slightly but don’t increase the pressure of the non-dominant hand.

Bow your head slightly, drawing the crease of the neck toward the center of your head. Lift your sternum into your thumbs and lengthen down along the back of the armpits, making the back elbows heavy.

Practicing is an excellent way to induce a meditative state of awareness. Start your practice sitting in meditation in Anjali Mudra for five minutes. You can also use this hand position in Tadasana prior to beginning the Sun Salutation sequence.

If you ask me what I came into this life to do, I will tell you. I came to live out loud.
