Meg has been with us for about three weeks now, and has hit the ground running! With the lead up to the Forum and bringing our members back together in person again we have a lot of great work to throw her way. And as so many members will be hearing from and dealing with Meg, I thought I would use this platform so we can all get to know her a bit better through a quick fire Q&A: What is your favourite animal and why? Welcome to WayAhead Workplaces Meg! --- Additionally to welcoming Meg to the WayAhead Workplaces team, I have spent some time this week reading through the revised Safe Work NSW Mentally Healthy Workplaces Strategy. It has been great to see the focus on small business and regional communities. It was also really encouraging to learn that in 2017 it was estimated 67,542 NSW workplaces were taking ‘effective action’ to create a mentally healthy workplace and by 2020, that number has grown to 75,958. The fact that workplaces are starting to understand the importance of taking these steps is so encouraging, although we know we have a long way to go. I am looking forward to learning more and seeing what comes from the commitment of the NSW Government to developing new initiatives including free 1:1 coaching for businesses, self-service online tools and resources and digital healthy workplaces check.
