The team also recently won the Leinster Hockey Association Schoolboys Junior League trophy for the second successive year. These victories are unique in the history of the school. There seems to be no stopping The High School hockey teams this year as each week our players participate in competitions at the highest level. The High School's Harry Lynch scored the first goal having won a corner and flicked it in. The opposition scored with a rebound reverse shot but Evan Jennings scored the next goal for The High School hitting a
ball across the D for Joe Murphy to slot home. After half-time The High School defence fought well with Ross Howard holding the fort and throwing aerials to relieve pressure. The opposition held the ball well but couldn’t convert their chances. Leinster Hockey Association U13 League VictoryCongratulations to The High School U13 boys' hockey team which defeated Sutton Park School 3-0 to win the Leinster Schoolboys U13 league competition. The goals were scored by Alex Lynch, Alexander Stewart, and Ben Pasley. We warmly congratulate the team on its achievement and wish all members of the squad every success in future competitions. Leinster Hockey Association Senior League FinalThe semi-final of the Leinster Hockey Association Senior League was a fast and furious game from the tip-off. The first goal went in after just 10 minutes. Alistair Empey slipped the ball across to Peter Lynch who was free at the back post to tap it in. After 20 minutes Alistair Empey powered into the D with a reverse shot bringing the score to 2-0. Our opponents were kept at bay through some great tackling on our side. At half-time the score was 2-0. The second half started with HSD on top. Both teams traded attacks. Ten minutes in and Peter Lynch hit a reverse shot across the endline. It was skillfully tapped in at the backpost by Alistair Empey. Andrew Canning and James Coman were threatening down the flanks from right and left back. Our opponents were
unlucky not to find deflections as they created great space. It was end-to-end for 20 minutes until St Andrew's College scored with a drag flick bottom left. The final result was 3-1 to The High School. The final round of the competition will be played against Wesley College in Wesley College after Easter. This team will also play in the Leinster Schools' Senior Trophy against New Park Comprehensive in the near future.
