5 Reasons Your Content Marketing Is Failing

90% of businesses are using content marketing. But less than 5% of them are doing it really well, asserts a new survey by Forrester. Odds are, your real estate marketing efforts aren’t in this exalted status. So what are you doing wrong to keep you from succeeding?

There isn’t a single, catch-all answer to this question. The issues plaguing these businesses can be multifaceted, convoluted, and unclear. But here are some of the top reasons why real estate marketers fail at content marketing.

Your content marketing is Boring

The social media experience has become increasingly imagine-driven and increasingly brief. More often than not, digital content is served up in bite-sized pieces of photos or videos.

Consumers like content that they can learn from quickly and share with their friends--and then they like to move on to what’s next. Therefore you need to focus much of your content marketing efforts on short, highly shareable visual content. If you bore your consumer base, you may find yourself on their list of business brands to ignore.

The Power of Interviews

Interviewing people is a great way to create content for your blog or content marketing. This can also produce great contacts for future business dealings.

Consider conducting interviews via email, where you can simply send out a few emails with your questions attached. In this manner, the respondent can answer in their own time- meaning that they will give greater thought to your questions and will be more inclined to positively respond to your requests.

2 Ears and 1 Mouth Rule on Twitter

Listen and research before you voice your opinion on Twitter. It is much better to listen about twice as much as you tweet if you want a strong following. By listening and developing the best strategy to voice your brand appropriately, you will have an audience that is more engaged and targeted to your real estate purpose and passion.

Quote of the Week

"If you work just for money, you’ll never make it, but if you love what you’re doing and you always put the customer first, success will be yours."
