Plus job opportunities and new ways to give

December 26-January 1

As Girls Write Now approaches our 25th anniversary,
we asked our mentees,
Where do you see yourself in 25 years?

Girls Write Now is such a huge part of that journey. I hope to conduct my own research in college. It's been a lifelong dream of mine to publish my own book, so I absolutely dream of publishing something that's related to biology.

Well, 25 years ago I would never have known that I was going to be here today. Through Girls Write Now, I was able to just feel confident enough to go to a place like Google.

I'm looking into going into public defense work and tenant advocacy work. I think that helping people stay in their homes, connected to their loved ones...that's some of the most important work you can do in your life. I will still continue to write in the future in some capacity.

THIRD YEAR LAW STUDENT

Since I was little, I've always wanted to be a neurosurgeon. I hope that 25 years later, I'll be practicing and helping people.

the sky was white with a hint of lavender I couldn't tell if it was the snow that made it so or the delusion that the sky could be more than colorless

Prompt of the Week

From Azia Armstead, Girls Write Now Fellow

Instead of writing a brand new piece, choose a poem or story you have already written and put it in the reverse order. Rewrite the piece backwards. Start by making the ending your new beginning and see what unfolds.

As you look back on 2022, don't forget to revisit all the great writing you did! This prompt is the perfect way to remix your work and produce something new.
