More dispensing systems connect to My Health Record
This month three dispensing system vendors announced their products are now integrated with the national My Health Record system. This increases the opportunity for pharmacists to participate in the sharing and viewing of information such as adverse reactions, current conditions, dispense records, and discharge summaries. The three products are:
- Minfos
- RxOne
- Dispense Works
They join Fred Dispense and Aquarius, which have been integrated for a number of years.

National Skin Cancer Action Week
With two in three Australians diagnosed with skin cancer by age 70, National Skin Cancer Action Week is an important reminder of sun protection and early skin cancer detection.
More than 2,000 people in Australia die from skin cancer each year, and Cancer Council estimates that Australia spends more than $1 billion per year treating skin cancer.
Yet, most skin cancers can be prevented by the use of good sun protection. That’s why this National Skin Cancer Action Week, Australians of all ages are urged to use the five forms of sun protection. These are to:
-
slip on sun-protective clothing
-
slop on SPF30 (or higher) broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen
-
slap on a broad-brimmed hat
-
seek shade
-
slide on sunglasses.
A combination of these measures, along with regular checks for any changes, are the keys to reducing skin cancer risk.
Check-out the National Skin Cancer Action Week Resources that can be used in your practice rooms.
