Hi, there —

Busy is an understatement, so this month's newsletter is bare-bones, with just the need-to-know information. We're using a new pre-registration website, so you'll find those details below. You'll also find a link to our full autocross and rallycross schedules for 2017, and the details for our regional meeting scheduled for this Tuesday.

The first Hershey autocross event is a month from today and I, for one, am excited! I hope you are, too. And that, my friends, is all I've got to say this month!

Susquehanna member Matt Elliott has stepped up to look into the possibility of re-starting the road rally program for the region, and he's looking for help! If you're interested in getting involved, please email Matt directly.

2017 Autocross & Rallycross Schedules

The Susquehanna Region held a combined meeting of the executive board, autocross and rallycross committees earlier this month to determine the schedule for the season... and it's shaping up to be a great one! Check out the links below for more information. Registration is open for ALL autocross events, so you can register early. Note that the rallycross events are not yet posted on MotorsportReg, but will be in the near future, so keep checking back!

Our next meeting will be held in the private dining room at Gilligan's Bar and Grill, 987 Eisenhower Boulevard, Harrisburg, PA 17111. All members are encouraged to attend. Come early for dinner (and a drink) with other members.

Name: Mark Dougherty
From: Hummelstown, PA
Runs: Mark currently runs Autocross and Hill Climb events. He plans to start running Rallycross this year
Drives:Mark runs a 1965 Cobra in XP. He has a 1990 Escort ready for upcoming Rallycross events
Member since: The early 1990s

You may know Mark from one of the many SCCA events he has attended, or you may know Mark from his several TV appearances: a Team Leader on the East Coast vs. West Coast of Car Warriors or a guest on Two Guys Garage. If you've met Mark, you know it's hard to miss him. His contagious positive attitude, ever present smile, and his compulsion to jump in and help anyone whether he knows them or not makes Mark one of our better-known members. Mark is normally accompanied by his wife Wanda, son Brendan, and soon to be daughter-in-law Shannah. This family really knows how to bring the fun to everything they do.
When Mark is not participating in or preparing for events you can find him working at his family business The Traveling Builder. The premise of his business is best summed up by their first motto “Build your dream car in you own garage.” Traveling to client’s homes to build their cars has taken him to destinations around the world. While Mark has built all types of cars, he is best known for his Factory 5 Component Car and Kit Car builds.
Whether he is running Autocross, Hillclimbs, or Rallycross one thing is for sure, he will definitely be having fun and making those around him laugh.

Returning in '17: Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack

Over the last two years, more than 10,000 automotive enthusiasts have driven their own cars on real racetracks around the United States thanks to SCCA® Track Night in America® Driven by Tire Rack. That dream continues in 2017 as the Sports Car Club of America® announces the return of Track Night in America.

2017 ProSolo Rules Released

February 3, 2017 — Topeka, KS
The official 2017 Tire Rack SCCA® ProSolo® rules were released.Changes were minimal, mostly focused on updates to the ProSolo index factors.

DirtFish SCCA RallyCross Launches 2017 Season

February 7, 2017 — Topeka, KS
Registration is open for the first DirtFish SCCA® RallyCross® National Challenge of the season. The DirtFish Central RallyCross National Challenge will be held April 7-9 at Heartland Park Topeka in Kansas. This is also the site of the 2017 DirtFish SCCA RallyCross National Championship in October.
