redditors share kidneys, animals derp out, everything you need to know about the Armenian Genocide, and more. |
Oh, what a week it's been!
Tens of thousands of you signed up for Upvoted Weekly and we got some great feedback—you want more content—so we bulked things up a bit in this week's edition.
Some amazing things happened throughout reddit this week: a disillusioned chef got an amazing proposal from Gordon Ramsay, a redditor found a kidney donor on reddit, a 65-year-old African American spoken word poet got inspired by the doommetal community, we learned a lot about firewood, and a whole lot of people discussed the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
Your feedback on last week's issue helped quite a bit; discuss this one on /r/upvoted!

It happens because you cool the water down below freezing temperature, since the smooth plastic bottle doesn't have any edges, it doesn't crystallize and form ice. When you smack it, you shock the crystals into formation, and the rest of the water molecules crystallize into ice with it. |

Ranaeil asked the assistance community on reddit for help 11 months ago, after having already been on dialysis for three years and with no donor in sight. Just five hours later, another redditor responded willing to donate to a total stranger, and months later, this was the result.

If you’re thinking about heading out camping or just roasting some s’mores now that the weather’s warming up, you should learn all about the different types of firewood. How did I make it to the rank of Star Scout and not know this?
