A NOTE FROM OUR TEAM
Greetings from The Spires team!
Can you feel it? Spring is certainly in the air! This is one of my favorite seasons in Rome, and the Berry College campus is alive with all that spring brings— warmer breezes, budding flowers and an abundance of wildlife.
However, the dogwoods and cherry blossoms are not the only things blossoming right now. Construction is well under way, and we wake each morning to see new and exciting progress happening right before our eyes!
It’s always our goal to keep you informed and up-to-date on all of the fun and exciting progress and events happening at The Spires at Berry College. We hope that you’ll come by the Info Center and let us treat you to a cup of coffee and get to know you!
Our office is a lively place and you’re likely to bump into someone you know as they stop in to talk with us about our Moving Station program that simplifies the moving process or as they make decisions regarding the personalization of their future homes. We’d love to have you join us as we picnic and tour Martha Berry’s House o' Dreams on April 30th, or join us for a future Lunch & Learn.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Despite more than 30 days of rain, construction at The Spires is going well. You may have driven past the construction site over the past few weeks and noticed that the roof is on a portion of Building 1. In addition to quite a bit of framing work, the construction pads on the Health Care Building and Building 2 are currently being prepared. Next up will be the Long Leaf Lodge. The Cottage sites will be poured later this spring once some additional site work is completed.
A viewing platform is available at the construction site to get a closer look at progress. If you are interested in setting up your visit, please contact the Information Center today at 706-368-9955.
STAFFING UPDATE
Allison Hattaway, Marketing Coordinator
We are happy to welcome Allison Hattaway to the team as Marketing Coordinator. She will be responsible for supporting the sales team and coordinating events, as well as front desk management. Allison holds a Bachelor’s degree from Berry College and a Master’s degree from Auburn University in Communication. Allison and her husband, Richard, both fell in love with Rome while attending Berry and have called it “home” since 2001
“It means a lot to me to know that my sons, Trey and Evan, have been able to spend time on Berry’s beautiful campus and enjoy it as much as we do,” said Allison. It’s no surprise that Allison was drawn to the opportunity to be a part of The Spires at Berry College where she finds herself a part of a team who value Rome and Berry College as much as she does.

April 9th: 11:30am A Historical Perspective
Learn about the history of Berry College and how The Spires at Berry College will be a retirement community with the vision of the college. Our guest speakers include Rachel McLucas, curator of Oak Hill and Martha Berry Museum, and Dr. Steve Briggs who will talk about the benefits of building a retirement community on a college campus. A complimentary lunch will be provided as part of the program.
May 14th and 15th: Lunch & Learn
Join us for lunch and learn all about life at The Spires – the majestic mountain views, the lakeside lifestyle, the comprehensive lifelong care, and the spacious, sparkling apartment homes and cottages. COTTAGES:
For those of you who have expressed interest, there are still some cottages available, with special incentives if you reserve your place now!
The Eagan, a spacious 1,636 sq. ft. cottage, boasts a multi-purpose den in addition to 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The Campbell, a 1,450 sq. ft. cottage, features 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, perfect for hosting guests. Both have garages and outside space to give you the experience of living in a standalone house, while having access to all that the community has to offer.

PARTNER ANNOUNCEMENT
MOVING STATION:
We’re excited to introduce our new partner, Moving Station, to assist future residents in preparing for their move to The Spires at Berry College in 2020. Moving Station offers a number of services through their Moving Made Easy program. The program is designed to decrease the concerns and answer questions related to moving. Each resident will be given a Personal Relocation Manager to assist with key aspects associated with moving.
