Thank you to everyone who participated in our Professional Pathway Career Fair on March 23rd! The event was a success and we were able to connect mentees who are not on the college pathway with different professional pathway programs in the NYC area. If you did not get a chance to attend the event, it’s ok! Project Come Up

Project Come Up is a new mentorship program with a mission to increase the financial literacy of young Black and Brown adults. Their mission is to enable critical experiences needed to overcome systemic barriers and create success for young Black and Brown people through mentoring, education, and supportive communities; ultimately, increasing the nation’s GDP.

CUNY Introduces Services for Student Mental Health During COVID-19 Pandemic

CUNY has allocated about $5 million to bolster mental health and wellness services during the pandemic including trainings for counselors, using Talkspace with out-of-state and international students, and is now offering access to a service that enables students who are experiencing personal difficulties to quickly connect with counselors via text. CUNY students who are struggling with any kind of psychological or emotional problems can text “CUNY” to 741741 to initiate a free and confidential conversation with a trained volunteer and receive a referral for further help if necessary.

 Together with COBALT (Creating Opportunities for Black, African American, Latinx Talent), Willis Towers Watson introduces the  2021 Diversity Scholars Symposium, offering for students to develop and hone vital career skills. The program provides a 3-day (May 18th – May 20th) learning and development opportunity in a virtual environment. This is open to current undergraduate students (expected graduation 2023-2024).

 

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is the nation’s largest youth employment program, connecting NYC youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience each summer.

Participants have the opportunity to explore their interests and career pathways, develop workplace skills and engage in learning experiences that help in developing their social, civic and leadership skills.

Fall 2021 News Internship program -12 weeks starting in September

The Fall internship is for students in the final 2 years of university or recent graduates who have passion for news and/or a willingness to dig in and learn about global financial markets, companies and economies. Apply here !

2021 Enterprise Data Accelerated Talent Entry Program (NYC):

This is a  15 month Enterprise Data organization program for those seeking an opportunity to work with data and gain full data product development experience. Candidates should have some experience with software development .NET, Java, C++ and Python, introductory programming in UNIX and/or Windows and writing readable code and technical communication skills.  Apply here!

iMentor Challenge: It's time to take on the Challenge!

March is here and that means it's time to officially kick off the 2021 iMentor Challenge! The iMentor Challenge is iMentor's largest mentor-driven fundraising campaign. Every year the mentor community comes together to raise critical funds in support of our young people. This year we fundraise to sustain programming for 3,800 students in NYC. This year's goal is to raise $350,000 by March 31st and we can't do it without you! Over 100 mentors have already joined the campaign and raised over $15,000. Get started today by creating a fundraising page and either joining your company's team or the iMentor PSP Team. Once your page is up, share out about your mentoring story through email or social media!
