This edition of Defence Week opens with an update on night vision equipment under Land 53. Tranche 2 has now transitioned into the acquisition phase, beginning with an Invitation to Register Interest (ITRI) activity. It is intended to be a fast procurement and will not consider developmental systems. MOTS all the way it seems.
In other news, industry made announcements on new space research at ASPI's conference, I speak with a NZ start-up targeting Defence, Germany opts for the Heron TP, industry and academia team up for space research efforts, and CSIRO gets a new space research centre. The space renaissance has well and truly begun.
