Creating a start-up: getting out of your comfort zone
"My goal in life is to create a disproportionately positive impact on the lives of young people. My focus has been to create these free resources, such as study aids, and opportunities through workshops - to help other young people that may not have access otherwise. Exams update
The Semester 1 exam timetable has been released. Students can access their personal timetable through my.unimelb. As exams approach, libraries will be open for longer hours to support students. The After Hours Zones in Baillieu Library, ERC Library and Giblin Eunson Libraries will be open 24/7 for 2–3 weeks:Baillieu Library: 21 May–10 JuneERC Level 1: 28 May–10 JuneGiblin Eunson Library: 28 May–10

Subject Experience Survey
The Subject Experience Survey (SES) for Semester 1 subjects is now open. Results from the SES survey provide valuable feedback to the University and to your subject coordinators for subject improvements for future cohorts. 21st Century Global Leadership Immersion (Globe 21)
The Centre of Excellence for Leadership, Engagement and Development (E-LEAD) is pleased to offer five (5) scholarship subsidies to University of Melbourne Science Faculty students to participate in the 21st Century Global Leadership Immersion Program (Globe 21) to be held from 15-28 July in Sydney. Globe 21 is a dynamic leadership initiative designed to provide students from leading International and Australian Universities with a gateway to the Australian leadership, business and cultural landscape and to develop life-long global networks.
The 2017 program included visits to and/or engagements with over 70 corporate leaders and professionals from leading organisations. Check out the 2017 program video.
The scholarship subsidy covers 50% of the program fee (program fee: $1650, scholarship subsidised fee: $825). There are limited scholarship places available on a first-in-first-served basis. If you are interested, send your contact details and Student ID here.
2019 ABS Graduate Program - Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
Graduates in the ABS come from a diverse range of disciplines and can work in one of three streams: Statistical Analysis and Research, Methodology or Information and Communication Technology (ICT). All ABS graduates are engaged as permanent employees on successful completion of the Graduate Development Program. The graduate program is a 9 month program at various locations that provides practical on-the-job training through team based work or projects. More info here.

The successful candidate will have experience with landscape, open space planning and the ability to assess landscape plans against Council standards is essential and will be required to have knowledge on town planning referrals, developer liaison, conservation and heritage issues would be an advantage. VicHealth's 'Top-Spin' Alcohol Project
The University of Melbourne has partnered with VicHealth to rollout a new alcohol education initiative, Top Spin, to start a conversation about how ads, spin and tactics are influencing student drinking culture. We are inviting students aged 18-29 years to submit an entry responding to five different themes online: Advertising and PR, Influence, Booze and sport, Life lessons and Our mates.
