Weekly Update

Shingles vaccination program - Orders of Zostavax®
Currently, practices are limited to ordering a maximum of ten Zostavax® vaccines, twice monthly. It is expected that this will be increased once the initial delivery to all practices has been undertaken and the Ministry of Health are able to allow larger orders. Until larger supplies are available, practices are recommended to delay recalling patients and organising vaccination clinics.

Redesigning the Practice incentive Program (PIP) - consultation paper
In the 2016-17 Federal Budget, the Australian Government announced it would work towards changing the PIP through the measure entitled “Quality Improvement in General Practice – Simplification of the PIP”. The redesign of the PIP will introduce a new Quality Improvement Incentive which will give general practices increased flexibility to improve their detection and management of a range of chronic conditions, and to focus on issues specific to their practice population. You can provide your feedback on the consultation paper or register for attendance at a forum here

GPs this is your last chance to provide input to help improve the care of people with T2DM
Tell us how you manage your clients with T2DM so we can understand current practices and available resources in patient education and self-management. We need your valuable input to guide service development and contribute to the planning, development and implementation of an improved model of T2DM self-management education for the community.

The directory allows individuals to search for general practitioners, allied health professionals and medical specialists working in the CESPHN region. The advanced search function also allows you to filter results by postcode, special interests, gender and language spoken. This allows individuals to find health professionals in their local area that meet their relevant needs. The directory can be accessed from the homepage of our website.
