Let's Talk Compliance: A New Podcast by NJBAC

Keeping up with compliance with new state laws and regulations is a challenging task for businesses. Failure to comply can lead to fines and penalties for a first offense, so we want to help businesses comply first and foremost. NJBAC has released "Let's Talk Compliance," a new podcast series designed to educate and inform companies about compliancy with the laws that impact them the most. Our first four episodes are with the NJ Department of Labor, covering issues like paid family leave and temporary disability insurance.

Protecting Against Coronavirus

New Jersey has taken the necessary steps to appropriately react to the global COVID-19 outbreak. Just this week, Governor Murphy has announced a public health state of emergency. The declaration allows "state agencies and departments to utilize state resources to assist affected communities responding to and recovering from COVID-19 cases," although it does not currently restrict travel, force businesses to close or shut down public offices and schools. This follows closely after New Jersey established the Coronavirus Task Force, which is coordinating efforts for proactive responses to the public health hazard to minimize its spread. On top of elemental hygiene—such as washing hands thoroughly and covering the mouth when sneezing or coughing— the CDC encourages employers to strongly urge employees who feel sick to stay home. The New Jersey Department of Health has also provided additional guidance and information on exposure risk in New Jersey. For business operations questions, please call NJBAC at 800-JERSEY-7.
