Dear Industry Partner, During today’s official media briefing, Premier McNeil and Dr. Strang announced mandatory non-medical mask use, and the Provincial State of Emergency, in place since March, extended to August 9th. Effective July 31, 2020, Nova Scotians will be required to wear non-medical masks when in most indoor public spaces. Indoor public places
include: - Retail businesses and Shopping centres.
- Personal services businesses, such as hair and nail salons, spas, body art facilities, except during services that require removing a mask.
- Restaurants and bars, except while people are eating or drinking.
- Places of worship or faith gatherings.
- Places for cultural or entertainment services or activities, such as movie theatres, concerts and other performances.
- Places for sports and recreational activities, such as a gym, pool or indoor tennis facility, except while doing an activity where a mask cannot be worn.
- Places for events, such as conferences and receptions.
- Municipal or provincial government locations offering services to the public.
- Common areas of tourist accommodations, such as lobbies, elevators and hallways.
- Common areas of office buildings, such as lobbies, elevators and hallways, but not private offices.
- Public areas of a university or college campus, such as library or student union building, but not classrooms, labs, offices or
residences.
- Train or bus stations, ferry terminals and airports.
The province reported zero new cases of COVID-19 today, marking the ninth straight day without any new cases. NEW - Mandatory Mask Policy Starting July 31st, non-medical masks will be required in all indoor public places where the general public has full access. This includes restaurants, airports, food courts, lobby areas in hotels, salons, spas, faith gatherings, malls, retail, train and bus stations, etc. As of Friday, July 24th, non-medical facial coverings became mandatory on all public transit in Halifax. The new rule applies to both drivers and passengers on all municipal buses and ferries, and private taxi companies.
Tourist Accommodations Registry
Fee Waived As of April 1, 2020, tourist accom-modations were required to register to operate in Nova Scotia, if they provide accommodations for 28 days or less. If you have not registered your property, you can apply online - the Fee for Registry has been waived for the current year in response to COVID-19.

Self-Declaration Travel Form Now Available Travellers to Nova Scotia arriving from outside the Atlantic Bubble can now complete the Self-declaration Form (Tracking Travellers to Nova Scotia) online. Every adult (18 or older) from outside Atlantic Canada needs
to complete a Self-declaration Form before they travel to the province, unless they’re exempt from self-isolation.
