Mother Nature has quite a sense of humor this year. I don't have much to say this month, and I feel that an image will sum things up much easier! One small thing is to please check out the Street Survival article in there, and sign up to become a coach! Keep it Classy Susquehanna - Melissa Mauro Note from the REROAD RALLYVOLUNTEERS NEEDED Over the past couple of months, we’ve been talking about the possibility of starting a Road Rally program in the region. Many have expressed interest, and we now have a great possible partner organization looking to host one as well. But, we need a volunteer who would be willing to help flesh out the details. If you’re interested, please contact Kristen Poole for details on getting started. Rallycross Season in Full Swing by John Roscinski Rally season is in full droop-I mean swing! Register for the May and June Rally events below: Autocross Season is Right Around the Corner by Chris Benfer Our autocross season started a little slow this year with the winter that never ends and a cancelled weekend at Hershey. However, the good news is around the corner as we’re about ready to start up our Farm Show season on May 13th . The events are now open on MSR, so please sign up below As usual, we will be doing the course design the day before the event (May 12th for the first one) so if you are interested in learning about course design or just helping out look me up on Facebook and we’ll get the details to you. One final note is that we’re looking into some different trophy options this year. By the time this goes out hopefully we have the choices narrowed down – check your e-mail for a poll or keep an eye out on the Facebook page. Tire Rack Street Survival I'd like to start talking about Tire Rack Street Survival by giving you an overview of what the program is and how it works. Long story short - it's a program that teaches teens and young adults (16-21) the skills to make them better prepared and saver on the road. It involves some class time, and several driving tests; including a slalom, skid pad, braking exercises to name a few. This program is run by volunteers and "Coaches" - which is where you come in. There is a short online course that you can take to get certified, and also gets you more acquainted with what the program is all about. My goal is to start the program this year, to provide a great service for our community. I won't be able to do it alone, so I wanted to give everyone some information on the program and provide you the link to become a coach. If you are interested in helping me with this, I'd love to hear from you! I've listed the link for the program itself, as well as the coaching site to get certified. Once you are certified, it asks you to email your certificate to Tim Beechuk, but if you can also email me directly, I'll have your information on file when we start to rally the troups! This is a really amazing program that I'm so excited to start, and I will continue to keep you posted as things progress! Cars & Coffee - Race Cars Editionby Doug Austin Do you love cars? How about coffee? This west coast phenomena has become popular all over the country and is a great way for auto enthusiasts to get out and talk about cars as well as check out what everyone else has been busy doing in the garage. With our base of racing and car enthusiasts, we are looking for anyone interested in championing a regular event of our own as a great chance to regularly get some members together outside of scheduled race events and provide a chance to meet and greet with potential novices to our programs. There are many businesses and venues in the area that we can work with to hold no cost events. If you are interested in championing a program or assisting, please send an email to carmeets@scca-susq.com April Regional MeetingThursday, April 26th • 7:30 p.m. Our next meeting will be held on the second floor at Appalachian Brewing Company, 50 N. Cameron Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101. All members are encouraged to attend. Come an hour early for dinner (and a drink) with other members. Meeting Agenda
