I hope 2018 has started out with a bang and that you are all excited about what this year will bring. I thought I would start this year by sharing a few of my favorites with you. A FEW OF MY FAVORITESOne of the many things I do as a real estate agent is to provide people with referrals for all types of services they may need for their home. I have a team of people who I regularly consult with and use before I bring a home to market. My goal is to showcase a home in the best possible light. This can range from a deep clean to a full basement remodel. The people I recommend below are who I’ve found to be the absolute best in the business. While there may be some cheaper alternatives, I wholeheartedly trust these people, and they are all on my list of favorites. Design: Suzette Eaton DesignSuzette Eaton is an extraordinary talent in commercial and residential design. She has designed some of Salt Lake's best restaurants, and her residential portfolio is equally as impressive. I have personally hired Suzette to work on my home, and am thrilled with the results. The beauty of working with Suzette is that she will come in and do as much or as little as you would like. She can offer paint color suggestions, suggest where your current furniture should go, help select new furniture, or manage a complete remodel, including finding and managing all subcontractors. She has fabulous taste and is very budget conscious. You can see some of her commercial spaces at www.suzetteeatondesign.com, or check out her Instagram for a sampling of her recent projects. If you are interested in a design consult, send me an email and I can get you in touch with Suzette. Handyman services: Thayne GregoryHaving a reliable handyman who you trust is critical for most homeowners. Thayne and his team can really can fix anything. He has a team of professionals ranging from electricians to plumbers to carpenters. The things I appreciate most about his company are that they are always on time, do extremely professional work, and are never more than a few days out from being able to assist you. I have used Thayne on a number of small projects on my home and I am always pleased with the results. You can check out Thayne's website here, which includes his contact information if you'd like to schedule an appointment. House cleaning: Luly PriceI hire Luly for every listing I bring to the market. Doing a deep clean right before pictures are taken or right before an open house makes a noticeable difference to prospective buyers. Luly is incredibly thorough and is one of the best organizers I’ve come across. I have used her for my home for the last 5 years and I've never been disappointed. If you would like to have Luly come to your home, please contact me and I will get you in touch with her. Window washing: No Streak Prof. Window CleaningTroy is by far the fastest and most professional window cleaner I have come across in Salt Lake. He has a crew of cleaners all with walkie talkies and is personally on every job he does. He requires perfection from his team and truly respects not only your home but your time as well. Call Troy at 801-243-9479 to schedule an appointment. Carpet cleaning: JP Carpet CleaningJP is fast and thorough and has a cleaner that is used on commercial properties so it really gets the dirt out of carpets. He also does a great job on homes with animals that have a lot of loose hair. Call JP at 801-910-3630 to schedule an appointment. Landscaping: Fred AndersonFred primarily works along the East Bench. He and his crew are great for yard maintenance, landscaping construction, and sprinkler repair. He specializes in landscape construction and installation, and also has a license in excavation and grading. I have used Fred and his crew for my own home as well as several of my listings. His work is excellent and he is reliable and timely. Contact Fred at 801-301-7562 to get on his calendar for a landscaping consult or clean up. I encourage my clients to consider all of these resources before bringing their home to market. I also use a variety of high quality stagers, photographers, and videographers as well. When listing your home, having a team that puts it in the best possible light will not only bring more buyers but also bring the highest price. SLTCT Original Winter Series This is a great series of winter races / runs that starts at The Great Saltair and is presented by the Salt Lake City Track Club. The 5K is this Saturday (1/27) but then there is a 10K on February 10th, and a 15K on February 24th. This is a great, fun way to jump start your training for the summer race season. Click here for details. Blue Moon Dinner Come and see if the moon looks bigger at 11,000 feet of elevation. Snowbird's Blue Moon Dinner includes a tram ride to The Summit, and includes a gourmet meal and live music. This opportunity to enjoy a delightful dinner under the blue moon is January 31st. For more information, click here. Run SLC Race Series This is another graduated racing series that starts on February 2nd with a 5k and gradually builds to a 15K on April 7th. These races go through the historic Salt Lake City neighborhoods near Liberty Park. This is another excellent way to start training for the race season, or to take the first steps to accomplishing your goal of finishing your first marathon this year. Click here for information. Yoga and Beer Yes, you read that correctly. Every Wednesday evening through mid-April, Salt Lake Power Yoga, Wasatch Brewery and Yelp are teaming up to do a yoga class with optional beer drinking poses at the Gateway. Class is free and the beer is only $5. All levels welcome. Check out details here. HEALTHY LIVINGI have a new Studio Sweat workout that posted in early January. I filmed this intense 30 minute spin and core workout over the holidays and it is now available for Studio Sweat members. If you are short on time and want to get a quick high intensity workout in, this one is for you! Click here to check it out. As always, if you have questions about this website or how a Studio Sweat membership works, send me an email or give me a call. New RecipeThis is a family favorite that is often requested as we plan our weekly menu. It is more like a flatbread than a pizza, and works great as a meal or even an appetizer. It's quick to make and packs a punch of 23 grams of protein. Enjoy! Broccoli Rabe and Turkey Sausage Pizza
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease pizza stone or baking sheet with 2 teaspoons olive oil and dust with cornmeal. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Brown turkey sausage 3-5 minutes and transfer to plate. Add remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add broccoli rabe and sprinkle with salt. Cook, stirring often, until bright and green and evenly coated with oil, about 2 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons of water to pan and steam until tender, about 5 minutes longer. Scatter cheese, broccoli rabe, and turkey sausage evenly on top of dough. Bake until crust is golden brown, 15-18 minutes. Enjoy!
