Best paper award for TPRC

Looking back at ITHEC 2018 we enjoyed two days of inspiring presentations and fruitful discussions with experts aiming at working together on the development of thermoplastic composites. Further, our PhD student Tjitse Slange received the ITHEC / JEC Best Paper Award for his paper about “Rapid Manufacturing of a Tailored Spar by AFP and Stamp Forming”.

Research Spotlight

TPRC and TPAC developed a new recycling process for thermoplastic composites offering high mechanical performance and design freedom at low cost. Considering the high commercial value of this material as well as legal and environmental reasons, a new recycling route from trim parts to molded panels is developed.

Lab extention: CNC milling

Our research lab infrastructure has been expanded with a CNC milling machine for thermoplastic composites. This state-of-the-art CNC milling equipment gives us the capability to machine specimens and trim parts with high precision. This helps us finishing demonstrator parts as desired and enhancing future projects.

Advanced Forming of Thermoplastic Composites Training
 
 
 

Training at TPRC

In November we welcomed a group of enthusiastic participants for our training on Advanced Forming of Thermoplastic Composites. We provided theoretical and practical training in our lab on the insights of press forming technology and the advanced application of thermoplastic composites. We are looking forward to welcome new participants for a training on composites on either advanced- or introductory level.
