A MESSAGE FROM SCOTT HARDY

Happy August, everyone! You made it another month! In 2020, that's an accomplishment, so WELL DONE! July was a crazy month for us as we braved New York, made it back to Arizona, braved a few days in the oven we call Phoenix in the summer, then RAN! Ran, I say! We ran up north to the beauty of the White Mountains and Show Low, Arizona. Up here, it's up to 14 degrees Celsius cooler than Phoenix, and a world of difference. What sealed the deal for me and my beautiful bride was pretty simple. Exercise and communication.

Every day we've gotten in the habit of walking swiftly 3 to 5 miles. When we left Show Low the first time we came up here, I was down 10 pounds in quarantine weight... We got to New York, and kept on walking! I didn't weigh myself, but I FEEL healthier. I FEEL better. We got back to Phoenix, and the only walking you can do is at 5 a.m. or on a treadmill. It's just not the same, for two reasons. One, of course the ground is moving for you, so you're not activating the same muscles you do when you're going up and down hills and pushing yourself forward. Second, and frankly most importantly to ME, I didn't have that 30 to 45 minutes per walk where I could chat with my wife.

Those walks are "our" time. We get a chance to talk about anything, even if we're huffing and puffing up a hill, and connect. I work a LOT. Even if I'm not "working," my constant companion is my iPhone and it gets my attention day and night. These walks make me focus on US, and not stare at a screen. If something went wrong that morning or the previous day, if I blew my top at the kids, work, whatever, it gives me and my wife a chance to process it and move forward. It gives us time to talk about the HAPPY things that are happening in life, along with current events and news (boooo).

That's the big reason I didn't like sticking around in Phoenix. We lost our 2x a day walks. The heat makes that not possible. So we're up in the mountains and embracing virtual learning with our kids. Next year I'm sure they'll be going back to school in person so we'll be stuck in the heat. This year? We can enjoy cooler weather, long walks, and clean mountain air (along with some AMAZING thunderstorms!)

On to the work side of things. July got us back on track work-wise. We continued to grow, we continued to launch new investigations, and we continued to work on hiring more people. That's pretty darn awesome. I hope you're doing well and submitting those claims! I'm getting a check a month on average from the class action settlements we list. I hope you are, too!

That's all for now! Make it a GREAT week!

Warm Regards,
Scott Hardy
President & CEO
