Hi, there — I don't know about you, but my summer is flying by at warp speed! While Susquehanna Region doesn't have anymore autocross events scheduled until September, many of our members have branched out to other regional events including hillclimb, and others find themselves in national-level Pro Solo and amateur road racing. Details on all of that below, and good luck to all competitors. We're looking forward to seeing everyone back out for double-header Farm Show autocross events on September 11!
Until next time — Kristen Poole

CELEBRATE!
July is a big month for the region! Please join me in congratulating the following region members who are celebrating big anniversaries with SCCA:
RALLY RECAP
Event #2 — A total of 29 people showed up for a beautiful day in the dirt on June 25. Each competitor got in a total of 10 runs. Andy Thomas took the best raw time of the day coming in at 653.795 in MF. Below are the best times of the day by car classification:
UPCOMING EVENT
Rallycross event #3 is just over two weeks away on Saturday, August 6th on the Elmerton Lot in Harrisburg. If you've never run a rallycross but are curious, come out, take a ride along and see just how much fun you could have playing in the dirt.
The rallycross co-chairs John Roscinski and Adam Moore are looking for someone to handle registration at future rallycross events. The person just needs to be at events when registration opens to accept walk-ups. If you'd be willing to chip in, please get in touch with John.
We're running out of members to spotlight in the monthly newsletter and on the new website. If you enjoy seeing fellow members' photos and learning a bit about them, why not get your 15 minutes (or 30ish days) of fame? You know you want to!
Tuesday, July 26 • 7:30 p.m.
Our next meeting will be held in the private dining room at Gilligan's Bar and Grill, 987 Eisenhower Boulevard, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
The meeting agenda will be provided to members via email this weekend. All members are encouraged to attend. Come early for dinner (and a drink) with other members.

Ten of your fellow Susquehanna members took advantage of a beautiful weekend at the 2016 Pagoda Hillclimb on July 9-10. Congratulations to all of you!
Heavy Metal Showdown
Four Susquehanna members were registered for the 2016 Tire Rack Heavy Metal Showdown at Pittsburgh International Race Complex this past weekend. Results have not been posted.

Our very own Susquehanna Region member Tyler Kicera found himself in the spotlight of Lancaster Online on July 14, 2016. Paula Wolf — Staff Writer for the online publication — gives much-deserved congratulations to 31-year-old Kicera, who competes in SCCA's top-level amateur road racing series — the U.S. Majors Tour — in the Spec Miata class. He's finished first five times this year, including twice in June at Watkins Glen International in upstate New York. Find the full story at the link below.
Name: Shawn Mellinger
From: Lancaster, PA
Runs: Autocross, Road Racing, Hillclimb
Drives: My main car is a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata in BSP that I run for autox, time trials, and hillclimbs. I also campaign a 95 Honda Del Sol in the 24 Hours of LeMons.
I started running autox with no other kinds of racing experience. That got me hooked quickly and I wanted more. I've been slowly converting my Miata from a nice street car to a more purpose built race car. That has paid off with a few records in BSP at hill climbs this year. I started running LeMons with a local team as a way to get wheel to wheel experience and that has been a blast as well.
